Late Night Gay Discos and Karaoke in Chiang Mai

There are no 100% Gay Discos in Chiang Mai, but there are several mixed places which are popular with Gays, these places are generally open later than the bars so don't get busy until late. For the visiting foreigner the choice is limited: the foreigner friendly venues are tourist orientated; whilst the venues more popular with local gays don't welcome foreigners.

Mandalay	Moon Muang Rd, Soi 2 (inside of Eastern Moat)  Enormous Thai Style disco, mixed but very popular with groups of young Thai Gays (AKA Mandagay).  Foreigners not welcome here. Late night venue "The Dark" is upstairs
Warm Up	Nimanheminda Road (Across Nimanheminda from the Room 101 complex with Glass Onion)  Modern Stylish Thai music bar, mixed and popular with the more affluent students and many young gays.
Bubble	Basement of Porn Ping Hotel 46/48 Charoen Prathet Rd (near Night Bazaar) Western Style disco catering primarily for tourists, many back packers go here, but also some Gays.  Many hustlers.
Spicy	82 Chaiyaphun (outside of Eastern Moat, close to North Wheels Car rent) Very late night venue, extremely popular with backpackers.  Many hustlers. Some Gay customers (mainly because its open late).  "No lady boy" door policy.  Formerly called "Nice Illusion"

Chiang Mai has plenty of late night underground venues where local Thais go, including several Gay Karaoke bars.  These places change all the time and can be dangerous if you are alone so we are not listing them here.  For the latest news on the best nightspots in town ask at the other bars, or ask some of the locals and get them to take you.
